The Men They Couldn't Hang - Green Fields of France (1984)

As it is Remembrance Sunday tomorrow, thought this little number needed dusting off and giving a bit of an airing. Lyrically wonderful and originally written by Eric Bogle (who also wrote 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda' another song about the horrors of war). Released by these boys back in 1984 it made John Peel's top 50 and hit #1 in the UK Indie Chart.
