Jesse Garon & The Desperadoes - The Rain Fell Down (1987)

This usually sums up good old British weather, but what a song to cheer you up! Jesse Garon & The Desperadoes were formed in Scotland and part of the Indie Pop scene of the mid 80's

The band were:

Andrew Tully (guitars, vocals)
Angus McPake (bass guitar)
Fran Schoppler (vocals)
Margarita Vasquez-Ponte (drums)
Stuart Clarke (guitar)
Kevin McMahon (guitar)
John Robb (guitars)
Bruce Hopkins (guitars)
Michael Kerr (guitar)

Oddly enough Michael Kerr was also part of the Scottish band Meat Whiplash (as per previous post https://wheresmejoompah.blogspot.com/2020/03/meat-whiplash-dont-slip-up-1985.html).

This song originally was originally released in  (Mar 1987, Narodnik, NRK002 [7"]) - UK Indie #21
Taken from the album A Cabinet of Curiosities (Jan 1989, Velocity, SPEEDLP111 [LP]) - UK Indie #20

The band later moved to the Velocity Records Label to release other singles such as 'The Adam Faith Experience' and also a cover of Blondie's 'Union City Blue'.
