The Monochrome Set - The Ruling Class (1982)

Well, as it has all been kicking off in the UK recently with Royalty, what better time to post this! 😉

The Monochrome Set, The Ruling Class.

Lyrically wonderful as usual from the Monochrome Set....

"My old man's a Viscount
And he wears a Viscount's crown
He buys me Cardin trousers
Of a tasteful shade of dark brown..."

Originally released on the album 'Eligible Bachelors' in 1982. Which features another fine track, 'Jet Set Junta', which is on this blog at: The Monochrome Set, Jet Set Junta

Later re-released on the compilation Volume, Contrast, Brilliance (Sessions and Singles Volume 1) on the Cherry Red Label in 1983.

Many of their earlier releases were on the Rough Trade Record Label and for their debut album 'Strange Boutique' they opted for the Virgin off-shoot label Dindisc.
