Indie Legends The Jazz Butcher with a song that kind of seems apt given the weather here, after what has been a period of extremely hot and sunny weather, as usual the U.K. gets this...



...Our penance for enjoying all the warm and dry weather over the last couple of weeks! We now have wet, sticky and humid instead of just sunny, sticky and humid, so.....

Let The Rain Wash The Shame Away

The song 'Rain' is taken from the Compilation album 'The Gift Of Music' released in 1985 on the Glass Record Label. The song was originally on the B Side of the 7" Single 'Roadrunner' also released on the same label in 1984.

 

The Conspirators...

The band were formed in Oxford in 1982 and having an ever changing name including The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy, The Conspiracy and The Jazz Butcher Group. The band also had an ever changing personnel. Some of the band members at varying times were:
  • Pat Fish - Guitar/Vocals
  • Max Eider - Guitar/Vocals
  • Owen "O.P." Jones - Drums/Vocals
  • David J - Bass/Vocals
The website mentioned below has an enormous 'Conspirators' section which shows all those involved with the band over the years.

It's A Scandal...

Their debut album 'In A Bath of Bacon' was released in 1983 on the Glass Records label and for their second album in '84 entitled 'A Scandal In Bohemia' both David J and Kevin Haskins (Bauhaus/Tones On Tail) appeared as guest musicians.
They released four albums and a couple of singles on the Glass Label before signing to Creation Records in 1986 where they went on to release a further eight albums.
