Their first single 'All The Naked Heroes' was released on Aardvark Records a year earlier. The label was a small independent Sheffield based label which released for this band as well as Comsat Angels and Artery

Lineup

The Naughtiest Girl Was A Monitor were formed in Sheffield in 1979. They consisted of duo:

  • John Mayfield - Guitar, Synth and Vocals
  • Steve Bedford - Drums, Synth and Vocals

By the time this song was released Bedford had quit and Craig Zelly (Drums), Mark Sole (Bass) and Russell Fern (Keyboards) were added to the band. 

Pulp &The Moonlight Club

They mostly played the Sheffield and Rotherham pub and club circuit and had Pulp (playing their first public gig!) as support in 1980 at Rotherham Arts Centre. They strayed out of Yorkshire just once to play at London's Moonlight Club in the same year.
